Wednesday November 12th 2025 - 10:45am Nintendo Direct: "Super Mario Galaxy Movie" Trailer Met With Positive Reception Online

This morning's Nintendo Direct, presented by Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo and Chris Meledandri of Illumination, featured a new trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023.) The cast of the original film will be reprising their roles, with the addition of Brie Larson (Captain Marvel) as Rosalina, and Benny Safdie (co-director of Uncut Gems) in his debut voice acting role as Bowser jr. Jack Black (voice of Bowser) made a surprise appearance to assist with the announcement of Safdie's role. Online reception of the trailer seems to be overwhelmingly positive thus far. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is expected to release April 2026, and is highly anticipated by audiences after the last film was met with box office success in spite of low scores from critics.
