Lego Brickheadz: A Sleeper Series

Of all the Lego set series out there, I have seen the least hype surrounding the Brickheadz line. I had no idea these existed until my little brother got me one he found in a Barnes and Noble. Sadly, it seems like a lot of these go unnoticed. It's mind boggling that they aren't front and center with their own big shelf like some of the other set series. Lego has produced well over 100 of them and the selection is massive; DC, Marvel, Star Wars, Disney/Pixar, Harry Potter, Minecraft, Ghostbusters, The Simpsons, and tons more. Even the Statue of Liberty got a Brickheadz set. They're really cute and all look great together on the shelf, even with a mix of franchises. But most importantly, it's an EXTREMELY satisfying and relaxing build every time.

I keep a few of these on hand like sleeping pills, when stress keeps me up I break the glass and grab an emergency Brickheadz set. Since they average about 150 pieces per figure each one is good for roughly 45 minutes to an hour of build time, plenty more than you'd get out of a poly bag. The simplicity of the sets might be a downside for those looking for a complex build, however when I'm groggy and trying to settle my mind I don't want to get deep into my current big set. I want to focus on the little things that bring me joy in a build. The feeling of order after I've organized my pieces neatly into piles, the sense of accomplishment as it grows brick by brick into something cool, and the state of calm satisfaction as I place my freshly built little Brickhead on my dresser. At 2am I cannot solve any of my real life problems, but I smile as I feel, even if just for a moment, totally at peace.

For about $9.99 per figure this meditative build is worth every penny. The Brickheadz line deserves a rare 10/10 in my book.
